Description: Bloodwood is a very durable wood with a high bending strength and crushing strength. It has a fine and smooth texture. The heartwood ranges from a grayish red to a crimson red. It also has red and yellow stripes. Throughout time, if the wood in not treated, it will turn a deep brown color. The grains of bloodwood vary from straight to variable. It provides resistance to decay and insects. Bloodwood does have a tendency to splinter.
