Description: Merbau is one of the hardest and most durable exotic woods. The heartwood ranges from a yellow brown to orange brown color when it is freshly cut and then darkens to a brown or red brown as it ages. This wood has golden or yellow “flecks” that makes it look like its speckled with gold. The grain ranges from straight and interlocked to wavy. Merbau is less dense than other exotic woods; however, it is very stable and resistant to termites.
