Description: Purpleheart is a very hard, strong, and stable wood. The sapwood ranges from an off-white to light cream color. The heartwood is a dark brown when it is freshly cut and then turns into a dark purple or purple brown. It has a medium to fine texture with a grain that varies from straight to wavy to irregular. Purpleheart is resistant to dry-wood termites.
